Having spent many of my years as an ecologist, I used photography simply as a tool for my work, to record ecological features and events. Now that I’m in my seventies and based in Bedfordshire I am finally finding the time to indulge my growing passion for photography, using it as an instrument for art rather than scientific record.

Alongside working as an ecologist, I have long had a love of the outdoors and spent many years mountaineering and exploring the natural world. I have continued to pursue this love with my photography, focusing on macro, travel and landscape photography.

Upcoming projects include ‘In the footsteps of John Constable’, seeking to create images from the same viewpoints as his paintings and show how the landscape has changed, and ‘The art in environmental restoration’, looking at traditional practices where environmental engineers make a difference.
